The new project from the Groove Army drumming unit—the Royal Squad itself—transcends musical genres, aspiring to be a transnational audiovisual spectacle rather than a traditional concert. In creating this show, bandleader Tokhi drew from a lifetime of musical experience and travels across most of the continents of our beautiful planet. Royal Squad is the supreme manifestation of everything Groove Army has ever dreamed of. Every performance features a powerful intro, masks, stunning costumes, and a meticulously designed stage. Beyond the whirlwind of traditional drums, the lineup features a full concert drum kit, a DJ set, a giant gong, and even oil barrels that dominate the entire stage. This is something that must be experienced firsthand.
