The Ježkovy stopy Orchestra is a leading Czech swing ensemble that follows the legacy of the Osvobozené divadlo and its three key figures – Ježek, Voskovec, and Werich. Comprising graduates of prestigious conservatories and music academies, the orchestra pays tribute to the pioneers of Czech swing through their passion and high-quality renditions of original Czechoslovak arrangements from the 1930s and 1940s.
Vocalists Lenka Švestková and Jaroslav Diviš will transport you back to the early 20th century, performing classic hits such as ‘Slunečnice’, ‘Život je jen náhoda’, and ‘Jen pro ten dnešní den’. This year also marks the 120th anniversary of composer Jaroslav Ježek’s birth, so you can look forward to a wide array of his unforgettable melodies. Furthermore, the performance will feature several songs with lyrics written by Voskovec and Werich during their American exile during World War II.
