The kitchen – the heart of every home. A place where housewives chatter playfully about things that remain an eternal mystery to men. The kitchen as a woman’s natural habitat. Excuse me? The original production Kitchen Porn (Kuchyňské porno) is a project by actresses and performers from the Nebojsy theater collective. In this performance, they tackle the systemic oppression of women in society.
Creators Kristýna Štarhová and Tereza Holubová drew inspiration from Šárka Homfray’s book Why Are We So Angry?(Proč jsme tak naštvané?), which explores gender inequality. However, they were equally inspired by their own lived experiences. The performance is woven with humor—at times reaching the point of tragicomedy—blending dance, song, and raw storytelling.
