This amateur film is a recording of a wedding ceremony from the year 2000, where Jiří Kára and Blanka Divišová said their “I dos.” An authentic look into the lives of the “bottom ten thousand,” the video gained a massive following—primarily on YouTube—and has achieved cult status thanks to the raw, absolute nonconformity of everyone involved before, during, and after the ceremony.
Given the eventual fates of the wedding guests, the recording can also be viewed as a tragicomic testimony to the lives of Prague’s alcoholics and drug-addicted citizens.
