John Wolfhooker is a four-piece band from Prague describing themselves as an alt-rock salad peppered with progressive breakdowns and pop melodies. That all served with very energetic live shows. During their existence, the band has self-sufficiently recorded four full length albums along with more than 20 music videos mostly produced by band’s drummer Adrian Janecek.

Since 2015 JW have played several festivals and tours over the world including main stage on the Rock for People festival (CZ), Envol et Macadam (CAN) or Sziget (HU) and supporting bands like Rise Against, Hollywood Undead, Our Last Night or Enter Shikari and tour all over Germany with The Hirsch Effekt.

The band is noted for the talent of the guitarist (and producer) of the band Ronald Janecek, who is by many considered one of the Europe’s best guitarists of his generation. For the last 5 years Ronald was also a part of the project Rock the Opera, where he played as a solo guitarist. The concerts happened all over Europe’s biggest and oldest opera houses in Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece and UK accompanied by Prague Symphonic Orchestra or (in the UK) by BBC Symphonic Orchestra. In 2023 he was a part of Eurovision Song Contest as a producer and writer of Austria’s final song “Who The Hell Is Edgar”.

Bassist and vocalist Filip VIcek was also a part of Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 as a music producer and writer of Czech’s semifinal song called “Omaga”.

The drummer Adrian Janecek is one of the very few official Czech artists for one of the biggest names in drum world – TAMA Drums, Meinl Cymbals, Meinl Sticks and Brushes.

Their 2019 album 313″ got nominated for Ceny Andel (“Czech grammy awards”) in Rock category. In 2021 John Wolfhooker released their single „Tidal Wave” fealuring the biggest name in Czech pop/rap right now – Ben Cristovao. This single made it to the main rotation on the biggest Czech mainstream radio Evropa2 where it stayed for 6 months. The same radio success happened with a pop-punk tribute song “1999” from “626” EP.

Right now the band is promoting and touring with their fourth studio album “The New Past” which was entirely recorded in their own studios Pidgeon Records, mixed and produced by the band’s very own guitarist Ronald Janecek.
