After a very successful domestic concert premiere at last year’s Rock for People festival and a sold-out solo concert a month later at Prague’s ARCHA+ (formerly Archa Theatre), the Sleep Token phenomenon returns to the Czech Republic. They will play their biggest Czech concert to date on 15 November at Prague’s O2 universum as part of the Rock for People Concerts series.
The enigmatic British band Sleep Token combines post-rock, post-classical and post-metal elements with soulful indie pop vocals into a blend that sounds like nothing else. In 2019, they released their innovative debut album ‘Sundowning’, and two years later they scored mainstream success with ‘This Place Will Become Your Tomb’, which hit the UK music charts. In 2023, the anonymous masked collective unveiled their third full-length, “Take Me Back to Eden”. The album quickly gained international success and broke the upper reaches of the charts in several countries.
The tracks “Chokehold”, “The Summoning”, “Aqua Regia”, “Granite” and “Vore” have collectively racked up over 85 million streams, while the standout single “The Summoning” has generated approximately 38.8 million streams on Twitter alone, causing the track to trend on Twitter and take the top spot on a number of international viral charts on Spotify. It was also selected as a “YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise”, appearing on the YouTube homepage, which is viewed by millions of people every day. At the same time, for example, prominent pop star Demi Lovato shares Sleep Token’s music with her 153 million followers on Instagram. In short, Sleep Token is constantly breaking down boundaries that they refused to acknowledge in the first place.
