Legendary band The Cult will celebrate the 40th anniversary with their The 8424 Tour! The band will perform on July 23, 2024 at ARCHA+.

The Cult announced their The 8424 Tour, marking 40 years of the band’s existence and taking the band on the road across the UK and Europe. As part of the anniversary tour, the musicians will dust off all eleven albums from their discography and join fans in recalling their greatest hits. The Cult occupy a significant place in music history, thanks to their pioneering use of post-punk, hard rock and experimentalism. They do not shy away from different musical genres or inspiration from other musical peers in their work.
With their musical prowess, uncompromising approach and captivating stage presence, they have created an unmistakable identity while charting new territories to explore. Billy Duffy’s (guitar) formative and influential years in Manchester’s underground or Ian Astbury’s (vocals) groundbreaking project ‘Gathering of the Tribes’ have left an indelible mark on modern music and profoundly influenced its evolution.

The Cult was formed in 1984 in England. In that time they have established themselves as a seminal post-punk band, selling millions of albums and winning numerous international and US gold and platinum awards. Among other things, they gained international acclaim for their 1985 album Love, which featured the timeless rock anthem “She Sells Sanctuary” as well as the popular single “Rain”. Most recently, The Cult released the album Under the Midnight Sun. Reviews of the eight-song album agree that “the unquenchable rock melodramatics still have fire in their eyes”. In late 2023, Astbury and Duffy reformed Death Cult for a series of live shows, including a single US show at The Theatre at The Ace Hotel and a limited run of UK shows, including sold-out shows at Brixton Electric. In the early months of 2024, the band performed on The Howard Stern Show and launched a series of vinyl reissues of a number of their critically acclaimed albums.
