As It Is – an international pop-rock band consisting of Patty Walters (vocals), Patrick Foley (drums), Ben Langford-Biss (guitar/vocals) and Alistair Testo (bass guitar) – burst onto the scene in 2015 with their debut album Never Happy, Ever After. Since then, they have racked up over 130 million streams and earned praise from prestigious magazines such as Rock Sound, Alternative Press, Upset, and Outburn.
Having experimented with and perfected their blend of pop, punk, and rock over time, As It Is have truly found their groove with their fourth album, I WENT TO HELL AND BACK (2022). The album came to life during a period in which each and every member questioned their life choices and wrestled with a world in a constant throng of chaotic uncertainty. Ultimately, these 14 tracks, including the anthemics singles (IDGAF”, “ILY, HOW ARE YOU?”, “I LIE TO ME”, and “I MISS 2003”, are powerful, playful, and fearlessly chase the unexpected. It’s a sprawling collection of songs that explore confusing and conflicting emotions.
Their latest single, “Lose Your Way & Find Yourself,” is fresh, almost ethereal, mainly because all the instruments are recorded live, with no samples. As the band says about the single: “Thanks to this song, we began to believe that the brightest future is still ahead of us, that the best is yet to come.”
