Babyshambles UK

Babyshambles formed in 2004 during a turbulent period in frontman Peter Doherty’s life. After being kicked out of The Libertines for the second time, he began to devote himself fully to writing for this side project. It was during this time that some of their most famous songs, such as Killamangiro, Delivery, Fuck Forever, and Albion, were written.

However, the singer’s wild behavior continued, and numerous run-ins with the law increasingly threatened the band’s existence. Nevertheless, Babyshambles managed to release three studio albums – Down in Albion (2005), Shotter’s Nation (2007), and Sequel to the Prequel (2013) – and complete a world tour before going on hiatus for twelve long years. Now they are back with a new single, “Dandy Hooligan.” As Peter Doherty says, “It’s a precise, elegant pop-reggae song with a sweet melody that you can hum while walking with a cane.”

Frontman Peter made his mark on music history primarily thanks to The Libertines, which he founded together with Carl Barât and in which he sings, plays guitar, and writes lyrics. In the band’s early days, critics called him one of the most promising songwriters of his generation.

In 2009, he launched a solo project, which he continues to pursue successfully to this day. In this project, however, he has taken a completely new direction, incorporating acoustic, orchestral, and country elements. As with The Libertines, his solo project, and Babyshambles, Peter’s lyrics are interwoven with his characteristic sense of melody and distinctive poetic realism. Fans were able to enjoy his solo performance at Rock for People Europe 2015 in Pilsen, and now he is returning with Babyshambles!
