BLACKGOLD are here to take us back to the golden age of nu-metal. This masked London quintet serves up a much-needed dose of entertainment. Not getting into the mosh pit during their show is a crime! We know what we’re talking about, because we already enjoyed their set at Rock for People 2024, and this is a long-awaited return!
There is very little information about the band on the internet, and it will probably stay that way. According to the members, it is not important how they got together, how they started making music, or who is hiding behind the masks. “We try to let the music speak for us as much as possible,” explains frontman Spookz.
The fact that they accompanied stars such as Limp Bizkit and Skindred on tour long before the release of their debut album confirms that this approach works. Fans will have to wait a little longer for that, as the band first had to release four EPs. “From the beginning, we planned to release four EPs before we started working on the album. And here’s the last one, E.P Phone Home (2025),” confirms singer Spookz. “We really enjoyed it, and if you don’t get it, that’s your loss!”
