Destroy Boys have wild blood running through their veins – even Spotify named them one of the most interesting discoveries of 2024. Punk rock may have brought them together, but they certainly don’t respect its boundaries. Their lyrics deal with painful relationships, misunderstanding, and isolation, topics that are relevant to the current young generation. They have toured with stars such as blink-182 and Pierce The Veil.
The band was founded by Alexia Roditis and Violet Mayugba in Sacramento in 2015 while they were still in high school. Their debut album Sorry, Mom came out two years later, featuring the fan favorite “I Threw Glass At My Friend’s Eyes and Now I’m On Probation.” On their second album, Make Room (2018), they collaborated with Martin Cook (Death Cab for Cutie, Of Monsters & Men) and managed to record the entire album in an incredible four days. This album features the popular tracks “Crybaby” and “Duck Eat Duck World,” which also appeared on the soundtrack for the video game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.
Every year, Destroy Boys aim higher. In 2024, they were the headliners at Peachy Fest in San Diego and organized the third edition of their own DestroyFest in Los Angeles. In addition, their long-awaited fourth album, Funeral Soundtrack #4, was released, featuring guest appearances by bands such as Mannequin Pussy and Scowl.
