Having slowly expanded her palette of richly evocative storytelling, with 2024’s acclaimed mini-album The Death of Summer & Other Promises” dipping into indie-rock, folk and pop to weave visceral tales of the brain and the body, last year saw 25-year-old South Londoner Etta Marcus release her perspective-shifting new EP Devour.
She departed partway through her studies at a prestigious jazz conservatory to break free from the imaginary creative shackles. It’s no surprise that her inspirations include Portishead, Björk, and Fontaines D.C.
