GAEREA is nothing short of a beautiful enigma rooted in musical extremity and utter passion. In under a decade, the masked collective, born in the Portuguese town of Porto, has fought its way through the dark recesses of metal straight to the top.
Since their formation in 2016, the band has released one EP and three albums, building their own sombre world focused on human pain, isolation, and existential unrest. With the albums Limbo (2020) and Mirage (2022), they quickly became an unstoppable force. Their latest record, Coma (2024), marked their departure from the black metal comfort zone.
The entire band is dressed in black, keeping their faces completely veiled. This anonymity works in symbiosis with the power they unleash on stage. Their concerts blur the lines between everyday life and art.
