God Is An Astronaut has mesmerized audiences worldwide with their distinctive sonic tapestry both in dynamic live performances and through their recorded works. The trio, led by brothers Torsten and Niels Kinsella, has established itself as the face of the post-rock scene since its debut in 2002.
They have become renowned for using a diverse sonic palette that includes everything from ambient textures to dynamic bursts of intensity. Their latest album, Embers (2024), continues in a similar vein. From psych- to excellent krautrock trips, driving rhythms by drummer Lloyd Hanney and collaborations with guest musicians, including Dara O’Obrien, Jo Quail and Sean Coleman further enrich the album’s sonic space incorporating elements such sitar, cello, zither, shamanic drums, bowed psaltery, chimes and tanpura.
