American metalcore/alternative rock band I Prevail came to prominence after recording a metal cover of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space. Since then a lot of water has passed and the band has released three albums – Lifelines, Trauma, and the latest True Power. The second album released, Trauma, was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Rock Album category, and the track Bow Down was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category. The most recent True Power was released in August 2022, and the band admits that they took a completely different approach to its creation (not just because of the pandemic) – in fact, they didn’t put any obstacles in the way of writing it.
“We’ve been working on it nonstop since the summer of 2020 and we think this album shows where we want to go as a band. We said we weren’t going to put any rules on ourselves when writing it, so it’s the most genre-diverse album we’ve ever done.”
