Ida The Young CZ

Strange flowers, black lipstick, hungry seagulls, wrinkly hands in the bathtub, volcanoes and murderous cowboys – all this makes up the world of Ida the Young. This young band from Pilsen stands out for its intimate, straightforward vocals and captivating lyrics, as well as its colourful instrumentation, which is not afraid to mix genres.

Their debut EP Strange Shaped Flowers from 2023 is a distinctive combination of folk and Americana influences. In May 2024, their second EP Silver Thing was released on Ostrava’s Korobushka Records, where they take a more electronic direction. In addition to gaining experience in Czech clubs and festivals, they have also performed at the Slovak showcase festival Sharpe. In February 2025, the band embarked on their first European tour of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The band currently consists of the founding duo Iris Hobson-Mazur (vocals) and Marek Koliha (guitar), as well as Filip Simon (drums), Jakub Richtárech (keyboards, bass) and Pavel Kielberger (guitar, bass).
