The Texas group Kublai Khan TX turns hardships into hypnotic heavy metalcore, fueled by unadulterated fury and a turbulent spirit. Get ready, because their show guarantees a properly ferocious mosh pit!
The band – Matt Honeycutt (vocals), Eric English (bass guitar), and Isaac Lamb (drums) – formed back in 2008. They were then inspired by the raw, metal-infused hardcore of bands like Hatebreed and Integrity.
They released their first EP, Youth War, in 2010. While their music stirred the waters of the hardcore underground, the real breakthrough came with the release of their debut album, Balancing Survival and Happiness (2014). Extremely heavy riffs, crushing breakdowns, and uncompromising lyrics about overcoming personal weaknesses were the secret ingredients to their success. Their second album, New Strength (2015), was received just as warmly.
Today, Kublai Khan TX is one of the biggest names in the world of metalcore, and they are constantly pushing the boundaries of their creativity. Their latest album, Exhibition of Prowess (2024), is proof of that. Airtight riffs rolling through eerie samples and guttural growls. However, the real experience only happens live!
