The iconic American band that shaped a generation of music fans and is considered the pioneer of nu-metal has ushered in a new era and is currently enjoying one of the most spectacular comebacks in music history. Their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000) at the turn of the millennium opened the door for hard guitar riffs towards a mainstream audience and reaped huge success. This was confirmed and strengthened by the second album Meteora in 2003.
Linkin Park subsequently sold more than 100 million albums, won two Grammy Awards, and successfully toured the world to hundreds of thousands of fans. Following the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington in 2017, the band went on hiatus until August this year. They returned in full force and with incredible energy in September, led by distinctive vocalist Emily Armstrong, a new drummer and touring guitarist.
Their new song, The Emptiness Machine, instantly skyrocketed across the global charts and has nearly 250 million streams on Spotify alone. Linkin Park’s second new song, Heavy Is the Crown, was chosen as the anthem for the World Cup in the popular computer game League of Legends and has over 65 million views on YouTube in the month and a half since its release. All the stops are sold out and there is a real euphoria in the arenas as hits like Numb, In The End, and What I’ve Done are heard live again. The last time Linkin Park performed in front of a Czech audience was seven years ago in Prague’s Letňany as part of the Aerodrome festival.
