Forming her passions at a young age, Lizzie Esau was born in London but raised in the North East, growing up in a creative atmosphere that encouraged her to follow her early ambitions. Having penned her thoughts to song for over a decade, her passion to express herself through music hasn’t faded since. Finding influence in Wolf Alice, Imogen Heap and Radiohead, she’s keen to blow the lid off any one sonic box.
Now 22 years old, Esau has taken the industry by storm in 2022. Working with her live band – guitarist Shaun “Chippy” Chipp, bassist Joe Bennison, and drummer Alex Baker – the North East talent has had a busy live schedule over the last twelve months. Establishing her sound with support slots for Baby Queen, The Amazons and Upsahl – as well as performing at festivals including BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Live at Leeds & more. With early support coming from the likes of BBC Introducing, Notion, Clash, and Dork, Esau has cemented her name as one to keep an eye on.
Ramping up her song writing prowess with jealousy-fuelled cut ‘Shade of Green’, indie showstopper ‘The Enemy’ and the pensive and alternative ‘Bleak Sublime’, Lizzie continues to thrive and surprise with a rapidly-expanding discography. 2023 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for Lizzie and the guys. Come see what the fuss is all about.
