Mucha is a Brno-based pseudo-punk formation united around the singer-songwriter and weirdo Nikola Muchová, who came to the public’s attention with her indiscriminate performance, strange hairstyle and especially with her provocative songs celebrating male incompetence, gender injustice, various deviations, minority oppression, life in the Moravian metropolis and other oddities of life. She has been performing with the guitar since she was 15 years old and says she still hasn’t learned to play it.
Immediately after M.E.Kyšperský from the band Květy was bewitched by Nicole’s guitar playing, he managed to recruit a guitarist (P.Zavadil-Ty Syčáci, Pluto) and a drummer (Š. Svoboda-Budoár staré dámy, Japka), learned to play bass guitar (Čvachtavý lachtan) in no time and gave birth to a still active ensemble, which occupies clubs and festivals all over the Czech Republic.
The band has released four successful albums, Slovácka Epopej (2013) and Josefene (2014), Nána (2016) and Tos Posrals (2019). They are currently touring extensively and preparing to record another album.
