Petrofski is both a fragile romantic and a pop eccentric. He is as close to 80s New Wave sentiment as he is to modern pop.
His specific musical and visual aesthetic draws on the legacy of Depeche Mode and Petr Muk, but the charismatic singer and record producer is no epigone. He adds a new sparkle and pizzazz to nostalgia with seductive dance tempos, pulsating synths, innovative pop elements, distinctive Czech lyrics and an emotive, sometimes even brutalistic vocal delivery. His work blends simplicity with sophistication and DIY approach, progressiveness and creative verve. This is evident in Gen-Z’s active approach to social media, his numerous concert activities (including the Kamenice 2024 Festival, the Soundczech Showcase in New York and club appearances at the Rock Café, Cross Club, Café V lese and Jènemar Passéjure) and, last but not least, the high cadence of his new songs.
