The Police Symphony Orchestra is an enthusiastic group of 150 musicians, singers, and volunteers from Police nad Metují, a small town near the Polish border. It is a group that enjoys bringing people together through music, helping others, and creating unforgettable experiences.
Over the past 16 years, they have left their mark at Rudolfinum and Forum Karlín, on Radiožurnál, in a hockey arena, at the Smetana’s Litomyšl (with singer Zaz) and Rock for People festivals, in a giant circus tent, and even in the rocks. The journey of this determined band through the world of music is chronicled in the feature film Velký finále PSO (The PSO Grand Finale), which hit Czech cinemas in the summer of 2024.
The musicians are rewarded only with joy, yet they have already raised over CZK 4.3 million for charity through their concerts. Their repertoire includes everything from film scores and classics to rock, swing, and popular music, including the latest global hits. Since 2022, their original interpretations of well-known songs have been complemented by their own choir.
