Since their formation in 2009, California’s Silent Planet have been blazing their own trail in the heavy music scene. With hypnotic riffs that blend rich soundscapes with influences from hardcore, post-rock, and metal, the band has earned tens of millions of streams and recognition from music critics.
Silent Planet consists of Garrett Russell (vocals/guitar), Mitchell Stark (guitar), Alex Camarena (drums), and Nick Pocock (bass). They have released a number of successful albums throughout their career, with their 2021 album Iridescent earning praise from Hysteria Magazine, which called it “vulnerable and emotional.” In addition, the song “Trilogy” from this album has garnered over five million plays on Spotify, joining their genre-defining 2016 hit “Panic Room.”
The band won the “Best Underground Band” award at the Alternative Press Music Awards and toured alongside bands such as Motionless In White, August Burns Red, Beartooth, and The Contortionist.
