A masked singer known only as Vessel, a deity worshipped by what they call Sleep (which is very relatable, we also recognize sleep as the best possible thing after festivals) and music that doesn’t lend itself well to genre classification. This is Britain’s mysterious Sleep Token. Electronic elements, surprisingly melodic vocals, catchy choruses, sometimes even a pop sound, hypnotic atmospheres, and a decent breakdown here and there – there’s something for everyone in Sleep Token’s music. This was also appreciated by the American music website Loudwire, who reviewed their second album This Place Will Become Your Tomb as the twelfth best rock/metal album of 2021.
