Sweet Pill is an emo band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose songs straddle the line between pop and hardcore. The band consists of singer Zayna Youssef, guitarists Jayce Williams and Sean McCall, bassist Ryan Cullen, and drummer Chris Kearney.
Although the band was formed in 2018, they had to wait for success. They released their debut album Where The Heart Is (2022) in the same year they signed with Topshelf Records, and since then they have been on an upward trajectory. Even Hayley Williams from Paramore liked their song “High Hopes” so much that she mentioned it on her podcast “Everything Is Emo” on BBC Radio.
They have toured with stars such as La Dispute, The Wonder Years, Origami Angel, and Their/They’re/There. Veteran indie label Hopeless Records (All Time Low, Avenged Sevenfold, Neck Deep) also took an interest in them, releasing two EPs, Starchild (2024) and Unraveled (2025). Sweet Pill only hopes to inspire others into a life lived passionately in close community with like-minded individuals.
