The Lilacs UK

The Lilacs are an energetic indie band from Wigan, UK. In just a few years, they have made a name for themselves across the UK. They have performed at iconic venues such as Manchester’s Albert Hall, a number of O2 Academy clubs, and in 2021 they also appeared at the Isle of Wight Festival.

The lads have accumulated over half a million streams worldwide, catching the “ear” of various well-known radio stations such as XS Manchester and Radio X. Their debut single “Vicarage Road” has become one of the band’s most recognised tunes with upwards of 200,000 streams on Spotify alone.

The band consists of Ollie Anglesea (vocals), Sam Birchall (guitar), Dave Gomersall (drums), and Matt Johnson (bass guitar). The name The Lilacs is inspired by The Lilac Centre, a cancer treatment center where the band members have spent a lot of time in recent years. Unfortunately, in early 2025, guitarist Sam Birchall’s mother succumbed to cancer, giving the band’s name even deeper personal meaning.
