For over two decades, Trivium have been quietly raising the bar for heavy music by conjuring a near-magic balance between catchy melodies, metal ferocity, and a kick of rock ‘n’ roll spirit. They are metal royalty, sharing the stage with legends such as Metallica and Iron Maiden with ease.
After forming in 1999, they crafted a classic in the form of Ascendancy (2005), which KERRANG! magazine declared “Album of the year”, went gold in the UK, and surpassed half a million copies in worldwide sales. Metal Hammer magazine retrospectively ranked it in the Top 15 “The Greatest Metal Albums of the Century”.
They’ve earned six straight Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and six Top 3 debuts on the Top Rock Albums Chart. The single “Betrayer” from their album The Sin and The Sentence (2017) earned them a Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance”.
Their latest release is the EP “Struck Dead”, on which they spew fire and go full throttle. It’s a web of wild guitar passages, crushing rhythms, and provocative lyrics. The recording has a clear message – Trivium are the future, and not just of metal. Trivium are Matt Heavy (vocals/guitar), Corey Beaulieu (guitar), Paolo Gregoletto (bass), and Alex Rüdinger (drums).
