Since the release of their groundbreaking debut album To Plant a Seed (2009), We Came As Romans have been a guarantee of provocative, triumphant, yet intimate hits. Their increasingly diverse repertoire, full of metal power, hard riffs, and electronic elements, thrills audiences in clubs and festivals alike.
The band’s rise was rapid, catapulting them into the hearts of die-hard fans who joined them on their journey through metalcore and post-hardcore. We Came As Romans has toured with stars such as Bring Me The Horizon, I Prevail, Bullet For My Valentine, and A Day To Remember.
In addition to a devoted fan base, they have also earned critical acclaim. The album Tracing Back Roots (2013) reached number one on the Billboard Independent Albums Charts. Metal Hammer described the band’s 2015 self-titled fourth album as a “massive departure from their comfort zone. Where once there was positivity, patience, and platitudes, there is now pain.” Alternative Press declared 2017’s Cold Like War a “milestone for WCAR,” noting the band “expanded their range of sounds, emotions, and songwriting capabilities without compromising their sincerity.”
However, the tragic death of singer Kyle Pavone in 2018 was a huge shock for the band. Instead of ending their career, they ultimately decided to continue his legacy and turn pain into strength. Their latest album, ALL IS BEAUTIFUL… BECAUSE WE’RE DOOMED (2025), is proof of that. Combining theology, philosophy, and introspection, the album represents the best that metalcore has to offer.
