Rock for People, which offers over 120 music shows each year, presents a varied accompanying programme. From 12 to 15 June, the CT Art and Conference Stage will once again host nearly five dozen performances in the form of theatre, dance, engaging lectures, stand-up comedy and film screenings.
Fans can look forward to the artistic ensemble Cirk La Putyka, which is preparing a performance tailored to Rock for People, the African ensemble Fulu Muziki, which plays upcycled musical instruments made from garbage, covers of famous rock ballads performed by the Prague Philharmonia or the legendary AZ Kvíz live with moderator Ales Zbořil. The debates will feature such guests as Čestmír Strakatý and his guest, Jindřich Šídlo in his popular podcast from the production of Memory of the Nation Dobrovský & Šídlo, Lukáš Hejlík with his Listování or Martin Bartkovský, who will offer Reflection of Brussels on the topic of 20 years of the Czech Republic in the European Union. Stand Up Comedy will be hosted by Nikola Džokić or Big Daddy Mikky and Slam Poetry will be dominated by Anatol Svahilec or Tady Tali.
The accompanying programme is divided into three thematic areas – Art & Music, Talks and Theatre & Shows. The first section, Art & Music, will offer a screening of the Czech Television music documentary Stars Behind the Iron Curtain, or a clash of generations in the series Slyším poprvý, where Czech legends and young artists play each other’s songs. Visitors can also look forward to OPERAVE – a cross-genre audiovisual experience produced by RUN OPERUN, the headliner podcast Noty Vole or the multi-award-winning Estonian art duo Puuluup. Talks will present on stage, for example, a CzechCrunch panel on the Hydrogen Future of Humanity or an interesting discussion by Czech Television journalist Jakub Szántó. In addition to the Cirk La Putyka troupe, the Theatre & Shows section will also present Stand Up Comedy with the faces of Europe 2 Arnošt Frauenberg, Nasty, Vojtaan, a dance workshop with the stars of StarDance to a song by The Offspring, a spooky show Prague Fear House or Prague Burlesque Show.
