Toyota new RfP clean mobility partner

09. 05. 2023

The new main mobility partner of this year’s RfP is the Czech Toyota dealership!

They will provide a complete shuttle service for the festival, which will be dominated by zero-emission Toyota bZ4X and Toyota Mirai vehicles. These cars will be used by the biggest stars of this year’s festival – MUSE, The 1975, Slipknot and Machine Gun Kelly.

Measurements of the 2022 festival’s carbon footprint have revealed the highest proportion of emissions are in the transport sector. That’s why we’ve decided to replace internal combustion engines with alternative fuels as much as possible as part of the festival organisation. And that too with an emphasis on hydrogen. The Festival has a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, Toyota plans to sell 100% electrified cars in Europe by the same date and is also heading towards carbon neutrality in all European production plants.

Charging cars directly at the festival site

Toyota’s electric cars will be charged directly at the festival in the Commercial Bank’s FutureFest 2030 zone, which will showcase the possible shape of the festivals in the context of the climate commitment and transition to 2030. The hydrogen Mirai will be refuelled conventionally at a hydrogen refuelling station in Prague, Barrandov.

The electric cars, including a Toyota bZ4X, will be charged by a hydrogen generator H2BASE from the Czech company DEVINN, which will also supply a significant part of the festival grounds with energy produced from green hydrogen. Additional clean energy consumption will be covered by photovoltaic cells, which will be installed on an area of more than 100 m2 from mid-May.

H2BASE functions as a hydrogen generator with supporting charging of electric vehicles. It has a maximum output of 230 kW, uses pure hydrogen as fuel and operates without the need for a human operator at the charging point, with remote control and monitoring. Of course, it has zero CO₂ emissions and noise comparable to a car’s air conditioning. DEVINN complements this emission-free alternative to diesel power units with the mobile semi-autonomous electric car charger H2BOT.
