We won an award at the European Festival Awards – thank you!

This year’s European Festival Awards ceremony was a great success for Rock for People. The festival won an award in The Event Safety Award category. The award confirms the long-term quality of the festival, with an emphasis on visitor comfort and its exceptional position on the European festival scene.

“I am truly and sincerely delighted to have won this prestigious festival award. For me, it confirms that the thirty years of building Rock for People, with all its ups and downs, has definitely been worthwhile. I have devoted practically my entire adult life to the festival, and not once, not even for a second, have I thought about changing it. I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of myself and the entire team, without whom Rock for People would never have been possible,” said festival founder Michal Thomes.

Rock for People CEO Luděk Motyčka adds: “It is a tremendous honor for us. In recent years, we have been expanding awareness of the festival beyond the borders of the Czech Republic, and this award is proof that we are succeeding. We appreciate being included among our much larger European colleagues, whom we have been visiting for many years to draw inspiration and learn how to prepare the best festival for our domestic fans. It’s great that the Czech Republic has a clear place on the cultural map of Europe and that, thanks to this, we can bring the biggest stars from around the world.”

Rock for People has long been a pioneer in crowd safety and modern festival processes, utilizing groundbreaking technologies. These are indispensable during the festival, for example, for monitoring critical points of the festival, monitoring weather fluctuations, training employees, ensuring safety during concerts, and many other areas.

“Our goal is to prevent problems before they arise. That’s why we use data analysis from heat maps and modern technology to manage the festival. We are the only ones in the Czech Republic to work with the Dronetag system, which allows us to manage the festival efficiently and safely,” says Tomáš Pokorný, the festival’s head of production.
