21:00 – 21:45 ANNABELLE – the singer and rapper originally from Prague became the best new artist of the year in 2022 (Anděl Award). The rising star of contemporary pop follows the success of her recent singles such as TOOTHBRUSH, CHARM and RUNNIN’ OUT OF F* TIME.

23:00 – 24:00 VENTOLIN – the electronic project of David Doubek, a cultural anthropologist from Charles University, uses old samplers, analogue synths and archaic drummachines. He is a lover of the primitive sound of Detroit techno, Italian disco and the Indian disco style called “shrumbabumba” from the 1880s, played mostly with palms on the skin 😊

Friday 9 June

11:50 – 12:35 How to have an open society – a discussion on how young people (i.e. you!) can get involved in LGBTQ+ issues. Presented by representatives of Prague Pride and Transparent.

13:30 – 14:15 Social networks and nature: two faces of today – Adam Táborský is an innovator and promoter of mental health, a psychologist in body and soul. He touches with his eyes and his way of being is walking. After paddling around Europe in the field of change management consulting and innovation, he anchored Between the Fences (Bohnice Hospital) and Therapy Among the Trees (a project that connects nature and mental health).

15:10 – 15:55 CC: Living small – the fact that young people cannot afford their own housing is talked about a lot and often. And even if the situation seems rather bleak, today’s innovative times bring opportunities to get an abode. For example, you can build one with your own help. Especially if you realise that you don’t need a two-storey house with a garden to live in, but a small wooden or modular house will do. How to do it? 11:50 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. MY BODY IS MINE – height, width, skin color, nose size, butt, leg shape…too many freckles, not enough hair, too much hair. We all have our issues, but every body deserves respect.
A talk from Ridina Ahmed, founder of the My Body is Mine platform.

13:25 – 14:10 Strong Speeches with Janek Rubes and Jan Spacek – a talk show by Jakub Bures and Tomáš Kettner. Their guests this time will be reporter Janek Rubes and youtuber Jan Spacek.

15:20 – 16:05 CC: LIVING ON MUSHROOMS – Czechs are considered a nation of mushroom pickers, but mushrooms can do more than just taste great in a fry. They could become a material of the future, perhaps one day replacing plastics and in some cases changing people beyond recognition. David Šohaj Minařík – Myco will tell you about the mysterious world of mushrooms and the benefits they offer.

17:30 – 18:30 Presentation of the Prague Music Week project – Michal Thomes (Rock For People/Ameba) and Marek Vohralík (Let It Roll/Beatworx) together with Bára Šubrtová will present their new joint project, which will take place in Prague in November. Be there, this is where the direction of the club and festival scene will be decided for the next years!

20:15 – 21:00 KLUCI – the band KLUCI is disco to the entou and punk all around. Combining various electronic gadgets and punk rock, they put together an energetic mix on the wave of bands like Hadouken, Does It Offend You, Yeah? and The Death Set. The Death Dance Party.

23:15 – 00:00 MANU DESTRA – lights, choreography and an energetic show – that’s Manu Destra. The young synthpop band from Prague focuses mainly on danceable electronic beats, but they are not afraid to combine their work with elements of other genres, from grand symphonic arrangements, to jazz harmonies, to rock riffs.

00:45 – 01:30 MUTANTI HLEDAJ VÝCHODISKO – under the name Mutanti hledaj východisko, two classmates from DAMU in Prague, rapper and lyricist Jan Vejražka and Jiří Konvalinka, who is in charge of the instrumental component (he is also known as an electrified violin player in the remarkable formation Vložte kočku). At each of the concerts they played, they also impressed the audience with their distinctive stage presentation in special mutant costumes.

02:00 – 03:00 BRATŘI – Brothers are a new discovery on the Czech electronic scene. The twins Jiří and Ondřej have created a musical project that ranges in genre between a combination of catchy dance electronics and techno. The brothers will visit Rock for People for the second time. They performed their first show in 2019 in front of a crowd of enthusiastic fans!

Sunday 11 June

11:40 – 12:20 Removing barriers in practice – Per aspera ad astra or through barriers to the stars. They didn’t have the best starting position, but they managed to overcome more than just themselves. Michal Kosík ended up in a wheelchair after an accident, but downhill and freeride are still in his heart. And in these extreme sports he collects medals.

12:40 – 13:20 CC: Biohacking – our body, our temple, they say. That’s why we should take care of our bodies with the utmost care. Keeping fit is essential, but what if we start applying all kinds of scientific knowledge to our body, through which we can access its completely new abilities? Biohacking is becoming a new trend in body health care, applying methods such as ice baths, taking nootropics, red light, sleep tracking and many other practices.

14:10 – 14:55 NOTY VOLE – Mr. Ságo, Mr. Šroubek and Mr. Šéfík invite you to participate in a special recording of a new episode of the Headliner magazine podcast revue. Opinions, news, arguments and comments on the Czech and world music scene will be heard live on Rock for People in the premiere. NOTY VOLE! is a new series within the Headliner CZ podcast. Honza Vedral, Wlado Sejk and Dany Stejskal will be behind the microphones, which means that anything can happen and anything can be said.

16:00 – 16:50 Food of the Future (Mewery + ProVeg) – what is the future of food, why are we discussing it, and why is it emerging in the market? You can look forward to two speakers who combine the topics of sustainability. At a groundbreaking presentation on cultured meat, the founder of the Mewery company, Roman Lauš, will present a groundbreaking presentation on lab-grown cultured meat, showcasing the world’s first prototype. Pavela Široká, a nutrition consultant and project manager of Udrzitelnemenzy.cz at ProVeg, will explain what effect the current animal industry has on the environment and how it will help our planet if we eat more plant-based food.

18:35 – 19:20 PAM RABBIT – fresh wind in the sails of Czech pop. Pam Rabbit, a Czech-Armenian singer with a distinctive and original work, who gained respect on the music scene with her debut EP Mom, I’m Lost, with which she was shortlisted for the Anděl Awards. Her approach and alternative music promise we’ll be hearing a lot more from her. She has already collaborated with names like Ben Cristovao, HILLS 97, John Wolfhooker, and SLZA.

21:00 – 21:45 .THEMAYREVOLUTION – Czech four-piece band known for their specifically distorted sound, energetic performances and dark introspective lyrics. Genre-wise, the band is on the edge of alt-rock and garage rock with significant influence of artists like Cleopatrick, Boston Manor and Highly Suspect.
