FUTUREYOU 2030
Those of us who come to Rock for People regularly know the space we devote to inclusion, breaking down barriers and opening up issues that resonate among us. This year will be no different. So, alongside the many moderated debates, you can get to know a number of non-profit or charity activities in the KB FutureFest 2030 zone.
Much of what we have in store for you this year is also related to mental hygiene and mindfulness. So there will be yoga classes, meditation exercises and outdoor workouts.
Because we believe that one way to a better self is to help others, we have invited non-profits or foundations that have been doing this well for years to come to the festival. Thanks to them, there is a safety net for those in need, lives, nature, health, safety and relationships are saved and an active civil society is fulfilled.
Below you’ll find some of the acts that make up the engaged portion of this year’s Rock for People. Partner organisations of Komerční banka can be found in the KB FutureFest 2030 zone, others at the CT Art stage.
- ADRA Czech Republic is a humanitarian and development organization that helps people in need in the Czech Republic and abroad. It is part of the international network of charitable organizations ADRA operating in more than 100 countries. It provides immediate assistance (not only) in natural disasters and improves the living conditions of people living in poverty. Volunteer centres across the country connect people willing to help with those in need (seniors, people with disabilities and others). They are also dedicated to global development education. They have been there for others since 1992. Komerční banka and the Komerční banka Jistota Foundation have financially supported ADRA’s activities for many years. In 2022, for example, in helping people affected by the war in Ukraine, in 2021 in helping the tornado-hit area in Moravia, or currently in a project to help children in foster care.
- AutoMat advocates for a better environment for quality of life in the city. It promotes public, pedestrian and cycling transport as well as sensible car use. It brings inspiration from European metropolises and activates people to positively transform streets and public spaces. It keeps an eye on politicians and politicians and the efficient use of public money. Together with citizens, it creates the city we want to live in. For the second year, Komerční banka has been a general partner of the Bike to Work Challenge organised by AutoMat, but also has been actively involving its employees since the first edition in 2011.
- Let’s Clean Up the Czech Republic is a volunteer clean-up event that takes place throughout the Czech Republic. For the tenth year it has been organising volunteer clean-ups of black dumps and litter from nature, towns and villages. At the festival you can learn how to organize such a clean-up event or how to participate in it. They will also be happy to introduce the waste app KAMsNIM.cz or the new project EKOkalendar to those interested. Last but not least, visitors can take part in a competition in collecting and sorting waste on time. We have lots of interesting prizes for the most successful collectors/shredders! Komerční banka, through the Komerční banka Jistota Foundation, has been the main partner of this initiative for a nicer and tidier Czech Republic for the sixth year. Every year, hundreds of Komerční banka employees across the Czech Republic take part in the clean-up events.
- With the #nePINdej project, the Czech Banking Association aims to keep us safe online. More and more we use modern technologies – every day we browse the internet, receive and reply to emails, work with online banking or shop in e-shops. And yet we are often exposed to cyber attacks that, if we are not careful or make the wrong decision, can lead to the loss of our identity or money from our bank account. What’s more, fraudsters have new methods to steal from us all the time. They target everyone from teenagers to the elderly. That’s why the Czech Banking Association has prepared a brand new interactive educational Kybertest in cooperation with expert partners. Every year, many Komerční banka employees join the Czech Banking Association’s Bankers to Schools project and help educate children in primary, secondary and high schools across the Czech Republic about financial matters. In 2023, more than 80 lectures were held across the Czech Republic, and this year we have already held more than
- People in Need provides tutoring and counselling to adolescents in the Czech Republic to support education for children at risk of social, cultural and economic exclusion. Tutoring is provided in 7 regions of the Czech Republic, in other locations online, and is intended for primary school pupils. The aim is to improve a child’s knowledge and school performance, increase motivation and improve the quality of their relationship with school and education. An important service this time for adult clients in the Czech Republic is debt counselling. It is provided in 13 regions of the Czech Republic – in total in 75 municipalities. In 2022, they provided 75,000 consultations to 5,000 people.
- H2Ospodar! – when we get up in the morning, make breakfast, brush our teeth, take a shower, we need water for everything. But we rarely think about how drinking water is created, how it gets into our homes and how it is returned to nature. The interactive exhibition H2Ospodar! describes the journey of water from nature to households and back. Come and discover where drinking water, which each of us uses approximately 100 litres a day, originates and where it ends. You will also take away concrete tips on how to manage water better.
- The DUHA Movement is a leading Czech environmental organisation operating since 1989. It promotes a healthy living environment, diverse nature and a smart economy. It can move politicians and authorities, negotiate with companies and help households. It strives for a free and democratic society that is socially sensitive, peaceful, capable of critical reflection and bears its share of global co-responsibility. A booth at the festival will transport you to a diverse landscape where agriculture thrives, as well as soil organisms and insects.
- The Star Bazaar is a charity second hand shop that serves as a training ground for people with disabilities. In addition to second-hand clothing, it focuses on selling local Czech products and its own merch, which is made with an emphasis on sustainability and originality. It is operated by the Czech Paraplegic Association – CZEPA and thanks to the great support of customers and the wider community, it has successfully managed to operate two stores in Prague. The festival will feature the best second hand pieces currently in stock, as well as original designer t-shirts with custom prints. Special limited edition RfP x Hvězdný bazar t-shirts can only be found at this booth!
- The Pro-Life Foundation has been operating since the fall of 2020 to help single moms, moms in shelters, children from orphanages, and seniors. It doesn’t give people money, it gives people experiences. Because nobody’s gonna take that away from them. It contributes to shopping and housing as needed. In short, it creates space for a dignified and fulfilled life.
- Defenders of Animals (OBRAZ) is dedicated to the protection of animals in the Czech Republic. It focuses not only on educating individuals, but also on advocating for legislative changes and other systemic reforms. It has successfully campaigned for a ban on fur farms or cage farming of laying hens. Last year, they launched another major campaign that focuses on the conditions of broiler chickens. There are 140 million of them in the Czech Republic alone. We are currently preparing a unique AI exhibition, A Picture for a Picture. The paintings were created with the help of artificial intelligence in collaboration with famous personalities such as Tamara Klusová, Tomáš Zástěra and many others.
